What is this treatment?

FDA-cleared Emsculpt^® technology by BTL Aesthetics both contours and reduces stubborn areas of fat while building muscle mass. Other procedures can destroy/reduce fat; however, they do not build muscle mass either. This is one of the reasons why Emsculpt^® is truly an innovative and revolutionary treatment.

Why is it called Emsculpt® NEO?

“Neo” means “new.” This part of its name refers to how the Emsculpt^® treatment is always moving forward. When Emsculpt® first debuted, it reduced fat and increased muscle exclusively with HIFEM energy. As this system’s newest and most advanced version, Emsculpt^® NEO combines high-intensity focused electromagnetic and radiofrequency (RF) energy.

What does the combination of HIFEM and RF mean for me?

Using special applicators, we deliver HIFEM energy to targeted muscles. In doing so, these muscles tighten and release rapidly. Instead of just a typical workout at the gym, this process supports a “supramaximal workout” – more intense than anything your body can perform voluntarily. HIFEM generates thousands of contractions in just 30 minutes. You would have to spend a lot of time in the gym doing 20,000 crunches and bicep curls to work out your body in the way that Emsculpt^® does during a lunch break. When combined with RF, we can generate heat to target areas. This controlled heating breaks down and damages fat. Taken together, the HIFEM- and RF-powered Emsculpt^® NEO treatment:

Is Emsculpt NEO® safe and appropriate to build muscle and burn fat in all areas of the body?

The areas of the body that Emsculpt NEO^® is cleared to treat are the same areas that you likely struggle with and are particularly stubborn to tone, strengthen, and firm. They include:

Abdominal area
Flanks or sides
Buttocks
Thighs (front, back, inner, and outer areas)
Biceps and triceps
Calves

Traditionally, your options were limited to surgical procedures to trim these areas. These treatments require anesthesia, downtime, and recovery and carry with them risks of complications and adverse side effects. As a non-surgical procedure, Emsculpt NEO^® is not invasive. It is tolerated well. Our patients generally describe the RF as a sensation of warmth, like a hot stone massage, and HIFEM generally feels like the muscle soreness you might experience after an intense workout. While sore, you can still enjoy your usual activities immediately afterward.

How fast can I see results?

Emsculpt NEO^® is not a “one-and-done” treatment; however, it does support long-lasting results as long as you maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. You may require up to four to six treatment sessions between five and seven days apart. Your best results are generally visible three months after the final treatment, as the damaged fat cells are removed from the body through natural and safe metabolic processes. Improvements are gradual.
