Laser Hair Removal – the  Procedure

Our lasers produce a highly focused intense light beam that is absorbed by pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface. This causes a focused buildup of heat, destroying most of the follicles and preventing hair growth.  Hair follicles will cycle through a growth phase and a resting phase and regrowth of hair depends on the phase you are in during the treatment.  Most treatment series are over several weeks and ultimately reduce or completely eliminate regrowth.  Touch- up treatments may be necessary after your initial series to treat new growth of hair follicles.

At LĀK Med Spa, the most commonly treated areas for women include the underarms, face, bikini including the Brazilian bikini, and legs. For men, it’s the chest and back.
