HCG Weightloss
You exercise, eat right, but don't see the results you want. Our HCG weight loss program is safe, natural, and effective. It works in both men and women to reduce fat that accumulates in the hips, butt, and belly.
There are no prepackaged foods, no intense hunger pains, or strenuous exercise. HCG is a natural hormone that can diminish your appetite and raise your metabolism. When HCG is combined with a low-calorie diet, the result is significant loss of fat in a very short time.
Most patients lose a half to one pound per day, which translates to 20 to 40 pound weight loss in just six weeks. Get the results you want with our physician-directed HCG weight loss program.

Lives office manager Tracy Rob has been transforming right before our eyes, telling us that, guess what? She's excited to get on the scale every morning. She's also a genie. That's because she is losing weight nearly every single day. She is on the Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa HCG program. Now she's over halfway through the program, and in today's "Be Well with TCL," reporter Kelly Hansen is checking back in.
Twin Cities Live office manager Tracy Rob has struggled with her weight for years.
"I have been struggling with my weight. It's been creeping up, creeping up, and I knew I needed to do something. I actually had looked into even weight-loss surgery options, and when this came along, I felt like, now there's an awesome option and not so extreme."
So, for the last month, Tracy has been working toward her weight-loss goals on the HCG weight-loss program advised by Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa.
"Usually, you see weight drop so quickly that it leads to high motivation to maintain things."
Tracy's weight has been steadily dropping since she began the program in late January and has been medically guided through the program weekly.
"We want to make sure that the patient is stable, that there aren't any electrolyte imbalances, and that the patient is otherwise doing well."
In addition to the HCG hormone injections, which attack fat stores, decrease the appetite, and give you a boost of energy, Tracy has been eating healthier.
"The diet is quite healthy. It's like a Paleo diet, with fresh vegetables, green leafy vegetables, as well as clean protein."
Once you get beyond the initial sweets and carbohydrates, which it seems like nearly everybody has cravings for—carbohydrates, sweets, breads, as well as cravings for alcohol—those cravings diminish rapidly.
But to give her an even bigger transformation, Tracy has had several CoolSculpting treatments.
"These treatments target stubborn fat, freezing it and killing it, and the body will just naturally clear away those dead fat cells. So it's very similar to when we actually lose weight."
Patients will often say, "Well, where did the fat go?"
Well, the same question can be asked: where does the fat go when you actually just lose weight naturally?
"Your body metabolizes it through your lymphatics, through your kidneys, and through your intestine, and that's exactly what happens with the CoolSculpting as well."
"It's so super easy. Anybody can get through it. Anybody can do it, and I'm really anxious to see the final results."
Our little T-Rob, she is here with us, Tracy, and we are on the edge of our seats. We've been waiting to find out, so you have to tell us: where are we at with the pounds right now? When you woke up and got on the scale this morning?
"I'm down 20."
"Yeah?"
"Twenty-nine?"
"Twenty-one?"
"Four weeks, right?"
"Four and a half."
"Okay. So this was something that you were really excited to do. What was your frustration before? How were you feeling, kind of stuck, as far as just losing weight and where you were at?"
"Just getting the motivation to do it, and being held accountable by someone, because I don't have somebody to hold me accountable. And I know that it's supposed to come within me, but it was just getting motivated."
"Yeah, and that's how this helped you. And then every time you get on the scale, you get more motivated."
"Yeah."
"You've been a little bit surprised in how easy it's been, because for a lot of people, they would look at something like this and think, 'Boy, this is a daunting challenge.' Worth it, but still daunting nonetheless. What's been the easiest part for you?"
"Oh, well, pretty much everything. Giving myself injections are easy. Staying on the diet is easy."
"What about going out? Because I remember you were telling me about going out for, like, your son's birthday. How did you feel about that?"
"Well, I mean, there's always challenges."
"Yeah."
"But I thought about it before him, and I had a plan. And I knew where we were going. In fact, I suggested places that would have something that I knew I could have. So I just figured it out ahead of time."
"So that's a good lesson to take with you even after this."
"Oh, yeah."
"You know, when you're going out, if you plan ahead of time, because otherwise, if you were just at the mercy of the menu, good night, Irene! I mean, it is a Bloomin' Onion."
"So, yeah, that's exactly where—when you hit a plateau, this happened for you, and Dr. Lisa said that's a normal thing. How did you get through that?"
"Well, that—and it was tough. I really fluctuated, you know, two or three pounds about a week, and the nurse at the clinic said, 'Why don't you try an apple day?' And it's something where they just have you eat apples all day long. And I really think that helped. It just was the boost, and the next day I dropped, and then I was continuing."
"Oh, man. You've got a couple more weeks left on the program. Do you have a goal weight loss in mind?"
"Well, I would love to lose, like, ten more."
"Mm-hmm."
"I don't know. I'm thinking maybe seven is more realistic, but that's okay, because even after this six weeks, I have the tools. You know, I can still follow the core."
"And think about the confidence that then you have, so that if you want to look into a different way of exercising, working that into your life, you're past that initial hump where then you really feel motivated."
"Yeah. I was saying to my husband this morning, you know, I'm down 20. Oh, I've still got more to go, but it sure beats saying I have 40 more pounds to go."
"Well, Tracy, I mean, you're a mother, you're a grandmother. You want to be happy and healthy and have energy to live your life to the fullest. I mean, I know that's the bottom line. That's what all of this—"
"Oh, yeah. I've got more grandkids to come, and I'm hoping."
"Thank you."

Twincities Live
Well, today in "Be Well with TCL," we are tackling menopause. And ladies, let's be honest, it gets a pretty bad rap.
"I'm having a hot flash!"
"You're fine. Seriously? They're starting—look, you're on a camel in the middle of the Arabian Desert. If you're not having a hot flash, you're dead."
"What do you think this is?"
"Fabulous!"
Well, our next guest is here to break down what is actually going on with your body and how to bring the magic back into your relationship. We want to welcome our expert, Dr. Lisa from Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa. Nice to see you.
"Nice to see you as well."
"Welcome back. Okay, the things that happen to your body during menopause. So, obviously, everyone talks about the hot flashes. That's, like, the thing that is the telltale sign of menopause. But what's actually going on when it comes to your ovaries when you're going through menopause?"
"Sure. The ovaries are the primary source of your three main hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. And those levels can either very slowly decline, or they can very rapidly decline. So, some women may have very irregular menstrual cycles for a year or so prior to the outset of menopause. Okay? Others will have normal periods right to the end, and then, boom, like you've shut off a light switch, they will go into menopause very quickly, and their hormone levels will plummet."
"So everyone kind of thinks of ovaries as, like, here's where the eggs are coming from. You totally forget that they're responsible for those hormones."
"I think so."
"As those plummet, then you're talking about specifically testosterone. That's something that we stop producing over time?"
"Yes. And testosterone is something we always think about with guys."
"Exactly."
"Testosterone is very commonly thought of as just the male hormone, and that is one of the major myths having to do with testosterone, because the ovary makes testosterone right along with estrogen and progesterone. It's just as much female as it is male."
"Wow. So, if you're low on testosterone, what is that? I mean, what does that mean? Why is that one more important, or maybe is it more important than the other two?"
"They're actually all essential. Women were complicated creatures. It's never one thing, you know. It's usually multiple things that will keep us happy, and ultimately, that's the way it goes with hormones as well. But the loss of estrogen will lead to hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, irritability. A loss of progesterone will also make you feel very anxious and can have a profound effect on your moods as well."
"Okay."
"And your sleep. And testosterone, again, we very commonly think of it as the hormone of desire, when actually we have testosterone receptors on most of the cells throughout our body, and our brain is one of the most important places that testosterone has an effect."
"Okay. Lack of arousal. That's another big thing that's happening when women are going through menopause, and that can be a big shock. And what are you doing with your relationship? And I think, particularly for a lot of women, when it's like we're maybe at a great time in our lives—the kids are gone, we have disposable income, we have, you know, time to be together—and then all of a sudden, it's like you're just not really interested. What's going on here?"
"Yeah, you're absolutely right. We very commonly, again, talk about menopause, hot flashes, night sweats, but nobody talks about the loss of libido, the loss of interest, desire, the loss of arousability that can come. And that can come as a complete shock. Again, just as you were saying, with the extra time and now you're empty nesters, you were expecting that this was going to be the golden years, and sometimes that's not the case. The lack of testosterone can have a profound effect, again, because for women—"
"I always say this is our major sex organ. Guys, are you listening to this? Steve Patterson, are you listening to this? Are you listening to this? Say it again. All right, are you listening?"
"Yes."
"All right."
"Happy wife, happy life."
"That's right."
"Not—"
"And smile. We like—"
"Okay. You're not just coming bearing bad news, Dr. Lisa. You have a solution, and this is something that is getting a lot of buzz. And maybe you have heard the words 'bioidentical hormones,' but you don't know exactly what it means. So, what is a bioidentical hormone?"
"Bioidentical hormone means that we are using the exact same hormone as what our body produces. In other words, we are replacing estradiol with the exact same molecularly structured estradiol as our body makes—not a synthetic, not something that has a different chemical compound. And as a result, our body recognizes it as its own. We're able to titrate to much lower doses, as well as much less side effects."
"And women have to be seeing huge, huge results with this."
"Absolutely. We see dramatic transformations. I will see a patient who comes in miserable. They very commonly will talk about themselves in past tense. They will say, 'The old me, you know, I used to be much more engaged. I used to be happy. Now I'm angry, frustrated, not sleeping. I have complete loss of libido.' They'll start bioidentical hormones, and very commonly, within four to six weeks, be completely transformed."
"Oh my gosh, that's incredible. Okay, so how do you take these? I mean, what's happening? Are we having to go in for injections or things like that? What do we do?"
"Yeah. Well, fortunately, we don't have to do injections. However, very classically, bioidentical hormones have been given in the form of capsules in the past. There's the alternative of something called a patch—"
"Oh, yeah."
"—which then gives you nice, very stable, steady blood levels. But the option for a patch is very limited. It's not very commonly distributed. Okay. There's something called a sublingual troche, which is like a lozenge that can be slowly dissolved. Creams as well."
"However, when it comes to testosterone, testosterone is more complicated, and very historically, it's always been given in the form of a shot. Nobody likes to get shots, number one, and number two, it gives you very unstable levels where it will peak and go down very quickly. So we use something called a pellet."
"Okay. So, what's the pellet do? Do you have—"
"Oh, look, I have a pellet."
"If you see Lisa in the grocery store, can you show me one of those?"
"Sure. I'll pull out in my pocket."
"Okay, so here we go. We're going to take a look. And where does this go?"
"Yeah. So, a pellet, I commonly will tell patients, is about the size of a grain of rice. It can be implanted just below the skin surface in a little fat pad, and we all have a little extra fat right back here at the base of our back. And it slowly then dissolves over the course of three to four months, giving nice, stable, steady blood levels, which essentially is replicating what the ovary did. So it's a very natural form. Again, this is a natural, bioidentical testosterone. It is not methyl testosterone, which is the synthetic."
"Look at that. That is so cool."
"Well then, here, I'm going to give you this pellet back. I very much appreciate it, and thank you so much for your time."
"Yes."
"Fascinating stuff. So, if you're interested and you're thinking, 'Hey, I am that person who's going, "Where was the old me?"' maybe get back to the old you. To learn more about bioidentical hormones, call Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa. And through December, Dr. Lisa is offering 20% off the MonaLisa Touch or a G-Shot enhancement. Those procedures—for the details, head to TwinCitiesLive.com."
"And a big thanks to Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa for sponsoring the show."
"Thanks, Doctor."
"Yes, you're welcome."
"Steve, did you listen?"
"I did. I listened."

Twin City Live – PRP for Hair
You hear a lot about hair-loss solutions for men, but the ladies have to deal with this as well, especially if you're over the age of 65. I think at that age, half of women are experiencing some sort of hair loss.
And, you know, there are prescriptions, rather, and also some shampoos out there that claim to help. But Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa is now offering what they say is a more natural approach to getting back a full head of hair. As TCL reporter Kelly Hanson explains in this week's "Be Well with TCL," this treatment uses, get this, your own blood. Doesn't get much more natural than that.
"I have tried finasteride. I've tried medications. I've tried topical solutions."
Every single day, Mary Kay thinks about her thinning hair.
"So, for 20 years, as a woman, you've had to deal with this. What does that feel like?"
"It feels horrible. It feels absolutely horrible because there's very little you can do to fix it."
"Do people notice? Do they say—"
"If people say things to you? I actually had my son say to me, 'Mom, Mom, you're balding,' and took my cell phone and took a picture of the side of my temple here. And I was appalled at what I saw. I felt truly ashamed and embarrassed, like this was something that I somehow caused. And what was wrong with me? Why was this happening to me?"
It's a feeling Julie knows all too well.
"As I was aging and going through hormone changes and stress, all of a sudden, I noticed my hair falling out a little bit more frequently. Over the last five years, she's tried everything to get back her full head of hair."
"I have my hair vitamin, which I take twice a day. I also have minoxidil, which is Rogaine. This is my keratin hair fibers. So, when I am actually fixing my hair in the morning and if I have too much scalp showing, you can just—it's like a black powder that actually goes on your scalp."
"And then your cap?"
"Yeah. And then I am using a laser cap that I purchased online. It's expensive, but I do feel that this is definitely a good part of my routine."
But at Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa, the two women are hopeful because of something new: PRP.
"PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. Platelets, of course, are found in your own blood. Plasma is basically the serum, or kind of a yellow portion, of the blood. And so we actually filter out the red blood cells, so it's not a bloody procedure. And it goes through a special process that actually filters out the red blood cells, and it collects the plasma, the serum, which is, you know, such as the yellow portion. And it's within that that it contains the platelets."
It's a newer treatment to the hair-restoration world, injecting your own body's healing mechanism into the scalp to stimulate hair growth.
"When you've lost a lot of hair and it doesn't seem like it's coming back, there are dormant hair follicles there. And that's what the PRP does. It actually is not only stimulating stem-cell factors, triggering growth, but it's actually awakening dormant hair follicles that are there."
"I think women, in particular, really are looking for a natural way. And what could be more natural than using your body's own blood?"
"I've seen the before-and-after pictures of people that have done PRP, and it's phenomenal. Anytime I hear of a new option for hair growth, I am there because it's so shameful, and I'm desperate."
"It's new. It's newer, so it's something that I would love to, you know, be a part of and see if it's just the solution for me."
"It's really a transformative thing. It will lead to true change."
"It's really something. I'm telling you, my mom always complains about her hair. Mom, are you watching?"
Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa is now offering $500 off of their PRP for hair-loss package through the end of December. Call 950-5983 to schedule your appointment. You'll also find contact information on our website, TwinCitiesLive.com.
And a big thanks to Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa for sponsoring the show.
"You never know until you try."
"That's right."
Botox Mommy Makeover
About seven to eight weeks, I'm going to look a whole lot more tired. I mean, I am not kidding. I am sleeping so much, just trying to, like, stockpile the sleep. If my first child is any indication of how this next baby will sleep, I will need an IV of coffee to pull me through the day. But luckily for us tired moms and dads out there, we may feel it, but we don't have to look it.
Joe, okay. Well, in today's "You Look Fantastic"—you glow. That pregnancy suits you well.
In today's "Be Well with TCL," reporter Kelly Hansen takes us to the Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa, where we're helping sleep-deprived moms look awake again. It's just the beginning.
"Good little bunny lines, and we might need to do a little bit more, you know."
Mom Abby Roth is feeling a little more tired these days and says she's looking it even more.
"As I just said, started noticing over the last, you know, year or so, gosh, I'm starting to look a little worn out, a little haggard, more lines, more wrinkles. And I'm not a person who wants it to completely go away. I like a little expression. I want to look natural and normal."
And that tired feeling has set in big time when she welcomed a new baby girl home just six weeks ago.
"We're starting to sleep a little more at night instead of only during the day."
But as a mom of two, now with two little ones, getting sleep just isn't enough to look and feel her best.
"The Botox changed everything. I was here a few days then after having it done, and my coworkers said, 'Oh, you look well-rested today.' And it had not been a good night. So I know—I know it was the Botox."
Her before-and-after pictures are just five days apart, and you can see how Botox made those deep lines just disappear.
"It is very nice to have things sort of smoothed out a little bit. Your eyes seem a little more open and brighter, and it just—it helps a lot."
"Being fatigued is completely unavoidable as a new mom, but nobody wants to look fatigued. There's nothing worse than somebody coming up to you and saying, 'Are you tired? Are you getting enough rest?' Well, of course I'm not!"
Dr. Lisa Ohman Erhard, founder of Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa, says hormonal fluctuations after having a baby can actually affect your skin.
"We not only are tired, but we even look more tired as a result of delivering a baby. And Botox can actually erase those lines, really refresh your look, and just make you look more awake and really improve the appearance of your skin."
Having a baby can make us look tired and can stretch out our skin, but treatments here at Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery and Spa can quickly erase those stretch marks.
"Deeper laser skin resurfacing can help to regenerate the collagen and really diminish the appearance of stretch marks, as well as a non-laser treatment called microneedling."
"I would for sure get rid of the stretch marks if I could."
Mom Courtney B. has a three- and four-year-old at home. She says she wasn't prepared for how her body would look post-baby.
"So many changes that you don't even—people tell you all the time what the changes are going to be, but until you experience it on your own, you don't really realize what those changes are until it happens to you."
And those changes can happen to Dad, too.
A couple of studies have definitely demonstrated that men tend to gain two to five pounds during a pregnancy.
Both Abby and Courtney say their husbands turned to one cosmetic treatment in particular to slim down. That treatment is called SculpSure.
"Were you surprised that he was like, 'Let's do it?'"
"I was. Yeah, I was definitely surprised that he was wanting to get it, because he's not a person that's normally, you know, really into that sort of stuff."
SculpSure is a 25-minute treatment that will destroy up to 25% of fat in an area, decreasing love handles and contouring the body.
Abby couldn't believe her husband's results.
"His natural shape kind of has love handles, even if he's at his ideal weight, and SculpSure is really perfect for that because you can target those exact areas, and we really see the difference on him."
Proving a few quick treatments here and there can tighten, tone, and make us moms and dads look a little less tired.
Ah, pretty good stuff.
So Kelly is here. You would have never known that Abby had a six-week-old. She looked great. She gives me hope. She looked very well-rested.
And, you know, I never really even thought about how having a baby—the hormonal fluctuation—can affect our skin and how deep-set our lines and wrinkles go.
"Those hormones are the worst."
"The worst."
"So fantastic, you know, but it's just an interesting thought. You think, 'Oh, I just look tired.' Well, actually, you look tired because your hormones have changed."
"Well, the really cool thing that we were mentioning even just during the story is Abby doesn't look like a frozen person. And I know that's really, like, Dr. Lisa's big goal. And I love seeing before-and-afters of actual patients from doctors before you decide to go to them, because you want to see what is their vision of beauty. And Dr. Lisa's isn't to be frozen or not be yourself. It's just to be, like, just a little bit refreshed."
"It depends on who you see to get these procedures, and Dr. Lisa knows where to put it in the right areas, so you don't look frozen, you don't feel frozen, and that's going to last probably three-plus months."
"I want to know about that SculpSure stuff. I mean, you know, I want to look like I look like Dave Doll."
"So SculpSure, it's cool because it's a 25-minute procedure. There's a before and after; you can see the difference there. So what happens is, when the treatment starts, initially you'll feel like a cooling sensation. And then, as the laser is raising the temperature of those fat cells, which kills them off, you eliminate them through your body. And then, up to six weeks later, you're looking trimmer, you're more contoured, you're a little more toned and tightened, and it just keeps getting better over time."
"Well, and I've always thought, like, liposuction seems like really a lot. I mean, and there's a lot of recovery, and this is—I mean, who can do that when you've got little kids that you're chasing around?"
"Twenty-five minutes, up to 25% of the fat in that area reduced, and it can target cookie dough."
"Because that's—"
"Yes. If you carry it right here, Joe, it'll target—"
"It's right there."
"Thank you very much."
"Thank you, Kelly."
